It's weird starting a website in the middle of our journey, but here goes nothing.
We've met with so many people today. The OB, Eli's Nurse, the Nurse Practitioner, the Speech Therapist, and the Social Worker. Sometimes the amount of people wanting to talk to us reminds me of why I decided not to be popular in High School.
Eli had another great round of progress today. His IV's are slowly being reduced and he finally got a much needed bath! As we found out with the Speech Therapist, though, Eli just isn't quite getting the hang of bottle feeding. Part of it has to do with him being cooler than a cucumber for 72 hours, but they also think he might be tongue-tied. Tomorrow brings more adventures and a machine that should help to assess his ability to suck on things when they are placed in his mouth.
It's crazy to think that this time last week we had just scheduled our induction appointment. Tomorrow he will be a week old and still in the NICU. Granted, he's the heavy-weight champion of the NICU, but I'd rather him be the light-weight champion of our apartment. Zazzy is getting a bit too comfortable in her position of cutest in the house. She needs some friendly competition.
