Today was a day full of surprises. After another break in the streak of completed bottles, Eli suddenly decided that he was hungry. He is finishing each of his bottles at every feeding. His practitioner talked to us today and said they're beyond happy with his progress and there is no point to keep him much longer.
WE HAVE A COMING HOME PLAN.
We never thought this day would come, let alone, so suddenly. After what has felt like an eternity on the 4th floor of OPR, there's suddenly an exit plan. It's hard to believe that it's actually happening. We spent a good amount of time with Eli today and it's incredible to see how he continues to grow. His progress on feedings means that his feeding tube could finally come out. For the first time in 10 days, there's no tubes in our little buddy.
Seeing his whole face with no tubes just makes the coming home plan that much more of a reality. This roller coaster of an adventure isn't over, but we're definitely on our way out of the scariest part. There's finally a plan for him to come home and we couldn't be more excited.
